Hello everyone,


First of all I'm from Belgium but I write in english because my french writing is not that good. So sorry for that.

I purchased the B&W 805Di a few weeks ago. I'm using them mainly for HT and they are connected to a Denon 3808.
What I expirience now is that those speakers sound really really sharp and edgy. There is a swordscene in HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS and it almost hurts my ears!! Even with a CD the sound is not pleasant to listen to.

Is that the real sound of the speakers? Or is the Denon not a good match for the 805Di. I hope it is the Denon because otherwise I will sell the speakers.

What are your expiriences with the B&W 805Di??

Hello Magicvinny, and welcome on board.

Je n'ai jamais essayé les 805D avec les produits Denon. Personnellement, j'ai toujours considéré Denon comme une marque de qualité, mais peut-être l'association avec les 805D n'est-elle pas idéale. Il faudrait faire plus de tests.
J'ai écouté plusieurs fois les 805D avec les appareils des marques Naim et Electrocompaniet et ces ensembles fonctionnaient de manière très heureuse. Si je ne me trompe, votre ampli Denon est un ampli home cinéma, peut-être les résultats seraient-ils différents avec un ampli hi-fi.
